When is the News Xchange event this year?
The event opens on Wednesday evening, 2 November at 7:00 pm. Earlier that day, we will be offering optional workshops for all delegates – free of charge.
The event will close on Friday, 4 November at 1500 pm. Many of you will want to stay for the weekend. We highly recommend it! And we have made arrangements with the hotel to offer the same low delegate rate of EUR 175 per night, including breakfast and VAT, for the weekend.
Who should attend News Xchange?
Anyone with a passion for news! Our delegates comprise senior executives from news and media organizations, as well as industry suppliers from around the world. Our tiered rate structure, however, makes it possible for freelancers, students, NGO workers and academics to attend, as well.
If news is your passion, News Xchange is for you.
What will be on the agenda this year?
This year, our event agenda will be developed by the News Xchange Team and the newly appointed Executive Team, working together to bring something new, fresh, bold, imaginative and provocative. It will be a News Xchange unlike any other we’ve had before: still the same quality and still the same professional production, but with enhanced opportunities to interact with other delegates and with experts, and greater emphasis on learning and action.
We plan to have a draft agenda in place by the end of May. It will be available via this website.
One of our key values is collaboration. Here’s how we’re living that value this year: We’re asking you – our delegates – to help us shape the agenda. Throughout the summer and into the early autumn, we’ll be asking for your input on workshops, sessions, speakers, moderators and everything in between. Join us! Help us create News Xchange this year. Make this an experience about YOUR ideas.
We’ll be asking for formal feedback on the site, with a new set of questions every week. Be sure to vote!
Or, if you’d rather contact us directly, e-mail members of the Executive Team or me, Amy Selwyn, at amy.selwyn@gmail.com.
What is covered by the delegate fee?
Our delegate fee gives you:
- Access to the News Xchange Community – join to participate in the conversations going forward
- Ability to connect with other delegates, speakers, moderators and set up meetings in advance of the conference in Cascais
- Access to all conference activities, including optional workshopsDelegate lunches on Thursday and Friday – perfect opportunities for connecting and networking
- Evening activities (including delegate dinners, cocktail receptions, etc.)
Note that your pass does not include the cost of your airfare or the cost of your accommodation, nor does it include airport transfers to and from Cascais.
How can my organization become a News Xchange sponsor?
News Xchange is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Eurovision, the operating arm of the European Broadcast Union, and a select group of organizations with deep ties to the news industry. We welcome new sponsors!
Sponsorship packages can range in price from EUR 3,000 to EUR 45,000, and are customized to meet the sponsor’s unique requirements. So whether that means you want to advertise on our website or you want to host a reception or supply a corporate gift, our sponsorship team will work with you to determine how best to maximize your brand visibility within the budget you have available.
If your organization is an existing sponsor, please contact Amy Selwyn, Managing Director, for information on this year’s options, amy.selwyn@gmail.com
If your organization has never sponsored before and would like to explore the opportunity, please contact Ludmilla Garcia, Corporate Sponsorship Manager at ludmillagar@yahoo.fr.
