Jussi-Pekka Rantanen
TV news presenter for YLE, Finland

Jussi-Pekka Rantanen (b. 1975) is a TV news presenter for the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE.
He graduated from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Tampere in 2000 and he has also studied television and film at the University of Texas in Austin.
At YLE, Rantanen has worked for the Radio News and Morning TV (2000-2005) as a reporter and a presenter. In Morning TV, he has also hosted his own interview series called Culture Corner featuring famous Finnish, as well as international, artists.
Since 2007, he has anchored the main evening newscasts but at the same time, he has been involved in many other projects. In 2010, Rantanen hosted two major EBU events in the European Parliament in Brussels focusing on copyright issues; later in the same year, he hosted the Prize Award ceremony of PRIX EUROPA – the largest TV, radio and new media festival in Europe, in Berlin.
This year, in addition to his work at the news desk, Jussi-Pekka Rantanen has worked as a presenter in two TV productions from the Finnish National Opera – Jukka Linkola’s Robin Hood and Erich Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt. In the fall, Rantanen will debut as a talk show host at YLE.
