First joint global TV debate on post- 9/11 lessons

Roland Schatz, Founder and CEO of Media Tenor International, writes to tell us that 10 years after 9/11, three international broadcasters -- Al Arabiya, Danish TV and PBS -- are coming together to make possible the first international joint TV debate on the aftermath of the terrorist attacks.
"This unique effort is a clear sign that dialogue across cultural and political borders is possible," says Schatz.
The three networks will gather high level representatives from the worlds of religion and politics for a town hall-style conversation to take place in New York.
Scheduled participants include Grandmufti of Egypt, Sheik Dr. Ali Gomaa and the former Archbishop of Washington, Theodore McCarrick. These panelists will discuss why the lessons learned in the wake of 9/11 have not yet trickled down to all segments of society.
Additionally, the former Prime Minister of Denmark and current Secretary General of NATO, Anders Rasmussen, will join the discussion, along with his colleague from Jordan, Samir Zaid al Rifai and the former Secretary of State of India, Shashi Tharoor.
News Xchange delegates may obtain access either to the 90min pre-debate or the fully recorded 60 minute TV show. Please contact Roland Schatz (r.schatz@mediatenor.com) to arrange.
