I'm Cornelis Jacobs and I am the founder of Cityzen Agency, based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

I have worked in/with social media and marketing for most of my professional career. I see it as a healthy obsession. I wake up in the morning and before getting out of bed, I'm already checking Facebook or writing on my blog.

I am a man run by my principles and my philosophies. The overarching one I borrow from Walt Disney: If you can dream it, you can do it. Everything I do stems from that belief.

I'm an entrepreneur at heart. Most people will describe me as having an entrepreneurial spirit that translates into a "can-do" attitude. This attitude has led me to start Cityzen Agency after several years spent working in first the legal services and then the software industries, and also in broadcast media.

To my clients I bring experience from my work with social networks, Internet start-ups, bigger marketing departments and from the design world. The developers I work with always tell me that I have a crazy obsession when it comes to providing our client with the freshest web design concepts fused with the latest cutting edge technology.

In the relatively short time that Cityzen Agency has existed I've been fortunate enough to work with some great clients turning over millions of Euros a year, all the way through to start-ups looking at venturing online for the first time.

However, there is more to life than work. Besides being an entrepreneur I'm a public speaker, which is kinda strange because my mom told me I didn't talk until I was three years old. Honestly, I think I just didn’t want to. Now that I’m talking it can be difficult to get me to stop :)

Furthermore I have specific interest in social media, marketing and contemporary culture. I have a passion and nostalgia for television and print media. I’m also a writer, both for blogs and other materials, and try to spend most of my spare time doing that. Except on sunny weekend days. Then I love playing tennis with my dad.

I studied Law  at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, but I have decided to never stop learning. What I'll study next I have yet to find out, but it will be something more exciting then law.
